In our latest project at Shore Brand Media, we collaborated with the talented Jesse Boltz to bring her heartfelt song “Will She Move On” to life through a visually captivating music video. This song is a poignant tribute to the brave Marine women who have faced the ultimate sacrifice, of losing their partners in combat.
“Will She Move On” was inspired by Jesse losing her brother-in-law, Richard Wayne Davis, in Vietnam in 1969, Jesse Bolts poured her emotions into this song, aiming to raise the awareness of women who lose loved ones in combat. Jesse dedicated the song to her sister.
The journey of creating the music video was both challenging and rewarding. We started by listening to the song repeatedly and then creating a shot list. During the production phase, we encountered challenges securing a Marine for the opening scene finally securing someone with the appropriate uniform to help us out. Unfortunately, when this person failed to show up on set, we had to figure out a solution and fast! I want to give a huge shout-out to the Marine Recruiting office in Toms River, whose contribution can be found at the start of the video!
Our team primarily shot using the Canon R6 MK11 in 4K on a Zyhun gimble, to capture the song’s essence. Special attention was paid to the use of slow motion to ensure the video conveyed the intended emotions.
This project was a testament to the power of collaboration. We worked closely with Jesse Boltz, who not only wrote and sang the song but was also featured throughout. The role of the Marine wife was, wonderfully portrayed by the very talented Amanda Mclellan, The dedicated crew, included Mark Solley who produced and directed the video with Levi Hogan shooting and lighting. Each person’s unique talents and perspectives contributed to the final masterpiece.
The music video has resonated deeply with audiences, receiving hundreds and hundreds of plays since its release just a few ago. It has been a privilege for Shore Brand Media to be a part of a project that carries such a powerful message.
We invite you to watch the music video for ” Will She Move On” and support Jesse Boltz in her mission to honor Marine women.
